About

Marketing first.
Then the code.

Scott Carr riding an electric bike with his daughters

Scott Carr Web Design is me, Scott. I spent more than ten years in advertising before I wrote code, and it shaped how I build: a website's job is to bring in customers you can count. Not traffic for its own sake, and not a report that looks good.

That's why I build and run sites of my own: visitor guides, an events platform and our family's e-bike rental business. They have to earn their keep, so every idea gets tested there before it reaches a client.

Today I build bespoke, AI-first websites and platforms, with Claude as a daily engineering partner and SEO, performance and tracking built in from the start. You work with me directly, from the first call to launch and after.

A straight take on paid ads

I don't manage ads. I'll set you up to run your own.

After a decade on the advertising side, here's my honest view: managed ad services usually cost more than they return, and the reporting tends to make results look better than they are.

You know your business and your customers best. With the right setup, you can run your own Google and social ads, control your budget and see real numbers. I get you there.

  • Conversion tracking that tells the truthCalls, form fills, bookings and sales tracked properly in GA4 and your ad accounts, so you know what actually works.
  • Accounts set up rightCampaign structure, audiences and settings that keep your budget from leaking.
  • A clean hand-offYou learn to run budgets and tweaks yourself, and I am a call away when you need a second opinion.

The path here

  1. Advertising10+ years selling advertising, most of it as an account executive at Acorn Media on Grand Cayman. I learned what businesses actually pay for: customers they can count, not impressions.
  2. 2010–17Seven years on Grand Cayman. Both our daughters were born there. Toward the end, web development went from side interest to the main thing.
  3. NaplesMoved to Southwest Florida and went full-time on web development: custom builds and SEO for clients in Florida, across the US and back in Cayman, including the Health Services Authority.
  4. 2020Kelly and I launched Naples Electric Bikes. Later I replaced our rental software with a booking platform of our own.
  5. NowScott Carr Web Design: bespoke, AI-first websites and platforms for clients, alongside the sites I build and run myself, including Visit Naples, Events Naples and Naples Day.
